Wisconsin’s Elite Baseball Prospect Repped Waukesha in His Big League Debut

The Waukesha West product entered The Show with some swag last night.

Unless you’re a baseball nerd, you might not know the name Jarred Kelenic yet. But there’s a good chance you will soon.

The Waukesha native has been one of the game’s top prospects since he was drafted sixth overall by the New York Mets in 2018, a “five-tool” player blending superb speed, power, defense and a sharp batting eye. Now with the Seattle Mariners, the 22-year-old didn’t break camp with the big league club but raked for a week at AAA, smashing two home runs in his first game and proving what many had suspected: Kelenic had nothing left to prove in the minors.

The Mariners promoted him this week and he made his debut in the show last night, batting in the leadoff spot but going 0-for-4 in a game against Cleveland.

That’s all fine and dandy, but the real reason we’re here telling you about this ‘Sha-to-Show story is the swaggy cleats our hometown kid wore yesterday.

YES, THOSE ARE 262 AIR JORDANS.

If you need to reach Kelenic today, leave a voicemail at 262-RAD-SHOE and I’m sure he’ll text you back.
