Israeli jet shoots down ‘suicide drone’ launched from Gaza Strip

The Israeli air force on Thursday shot down an explosives-laden “suicide drone” that was launched from the Gaza Strip toward a target off the Mediterranean coast.

“A short while ago the IAF downed a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) that crossed from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory,” the Israel Defense Forces told The Post.

Hamas has launched several suicide drones, according to the Times of Israel.

“The UAV was monitored by the Aerial Control Units from the moment of crossing to its interception,” the IDF added.

IDF footage posted by the Times of Israel shows an F-16 fighter jet locking on and shooting down the drone, which was carrying an explosive payload of about 11 pounds.

Since the outbreak of hostilities, Hamas has launched several such drones, which the terror group says are assembled in Gaza, according to the news outlet.

The Hamas group’s suicide drone was carrying an explosive payload of close to 11 pounds.

But the IDF believes that many of the components are smuggled into the embattled enclave.

Hamas group Al Qassam shared video of their new suicide drones.

The Israeli military has reportedly shot down all of the drones.

The drone attack came as over 100 rockets were fired toward Tel Aviv, central Israel and as far south as Eilat, the Jerusalem Post reported.

According to reports, the Israeli military has shot down all of the drones.

Four people have been injured.
