The Third Ward’s Tory Folliard Gallery is mounting a new exhibition this month, featuring Wisconsin artist Charles Munch’s work. Munch (born in 1945) is known for his formally simplistic but bright and expressive paintings, which have been featured in shows at the Milwaukee Art Museum and other major institutions.
2. First Lady of Song: Alexis J. Roston Sings Ella Fitzgerald

The Rep’s back, baby. The venerable theater is welcoming an in-person audience to its intimate lounge space at the end of the month, for a one-woman musical show spotlighting singer Alexis J Roston’s talent. Social distancing will be practiced, and the venue will be limiting its capacity.
3. We Care Community Bike Repair Night

The organization DreamBikes aims to give away hundreds of bicycles to parents and kids in need this spring. And you can help! By volunteering to take part in this community-wide event. You don’t need to bring a bike with you. And you don’t need to know anything about repair work either. Wheel & Sprocket will be providing free pizza.
4. Up Close (But Not Too Close) with John McGivern
MAY 7-9, MAY 14-16 | THE PABST THEATER
Beloved Milwaukee personality John McGivern (the host of the PBS program “Around the Corner with John McGivern”) will be putting on a one-man show at the historic Pabst Theater this month and regaling audience members with tales of his childhood growing up on the East Side. Ticket-holders will be asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
5. Artist + Scientist Led Fitzsimmons Woods Walk
MAY 15 | FITZSIMMONS WOODS
ARTservancy artist-in-residence Beth Stoddard and scientist Perry Rossa will be leading a masked walk through Fitzsimmons Woods. Over 145 native plants call the 43-acre woodland, in Franklin, home — making it a great destination for a nature walk. And Stoddard and Rossa will both point out interesting flora and fauna along the way. The event is being presented by the Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy and Gallery 224.

7. The Hangover Show

Did you drink too much last night? Shuffle over to the Walker’s Point comedy hotspot Laughing Tap for a little hair of the dog. And nurse your hangover with some socially distanced laughs, courtesy of comedian Nate Craig. Tickets are $10, and Bloody Marys and Mimosas cost $7.
