Images of the Week: Remembering Alber Elbaz

The fashion set started off the week mourning the loss of designer Alber Elbaz, who died at the age of 59. Elbaz, who spent 14 years rejuvenating Lanvin, was a singular force in the industry, whose designs were known as “powerfully pretty” and beloved by women. Later that day, the 93rd Academy Awards took place. Chloé Zhao made history as the first woman of color to win Best Director, and took the stage in an effortlessly elegant Hermès dress, sneakers, and pigtail braids.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary, releasing some new photos to the adoring public. On the runways, Saint Laurent showed a vision of bejeweled rock chics for Fall 2021. Finally, Vogue announced the speakers for the 2021 Forces of Fashion summit, including Tomo Koizumi, John Galliano, and Gabriela Hearst. See the images of the week below.
