Born in the U.K., Rylance moved to Milwaukee in 1969 and graduated from University School in 1978 before going on to win an Academy Award for his work in 2015’s Bridge of Spies.

David Fincher’s latest flick follows the behind-the-scenes drama that led to the creation of Citizen Kane. Orson Welles, Kane’s director and star, was a native of Kenosha who alternately described his hometown as “vital and charming” and “a terrible place.” We’re just going to pretend he only said the first thing.
3. I’m Your Woman

Born in Milwaukee, Rachel Brosnahan has been building a heck of a career over the past 10 years. She rose to some prominence in 2013 for her work in “House of Cards.” Then she took on the titular role in the Emmy darling “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” Now she’s starring as a mother on the run in this well-reviewed neo-noir set in the 1970s and directed by Julia Hart.
4. The Nest

UW-Madison grad Carrie Coon is amazing. Seriously. Watch “The Leftovers.” Then “Fargo” season three. Then this film about a family moving to an old English mansion in the 1980s, which has been getting plaudits from critics for its masterful direction and tense plotline.
