13 Beer Events Brewing This Week in Milwaukee: April 22-25

This week includes a weekend-long fundraiser for the Humane Society at Urban Harvest Brewing and wraps up with the 33rd Annual Blessing of the Bock on Sunday.

Thursday, April 22

Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) is donating $1 from every Black Puppy Pale Ale sold over the weekend to the Wisconsin Humane Society. They’ll also be donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of Black Puppy merchandise.

Brooklyn Brewery has arrived in Wisconsin. Welcome the East Coast staple at a launch party hosted by The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) at 5 p.m.

Third Space Brewing is releasing Tellus Helles Earth Day Lager. Proceeds from the beer will be used to help Third Space meet some newly formed sustainability initiatives.

Friday, April 23

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing two beers this week. Joint IIPA has a presale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on, appropriately April 20. Presale for Long Days, Short Weeks Hefeweizen is Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick up is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Gathering Place Brewing is handing out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) is offering samples from The Fermentorium from 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, April 24

The Fermentorium is releasing a few refreshing brews over the weekend starting at noon. Blood Orange Juice Packets IPA is accompanied by four variations of Sombrilla Mexican Style Lager. Yep, that’s five beers. You can get them both at The Fermentorium Brewery & Tasting Room (7481 State Rd. 60, Cedarburg) and The Fermentorium Barrel House (6933 W. North Ave.).

Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) is shutting down the street from 2 to 8 p.m. for the Vienna Avenue Biergarten. The brewery will be also releasing Lille Bjorn Wit, Slightly Askew Unfiltered Helles Lager, #shoehaze Pale Ale, and a Gathering Place Radler. The Heaven’s Table food truck will be serving barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m.

Milwaukee Harley-Davidson (11310 W. Silver Spring Dr.) is having a Beer & Food Truck Rally from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brewery list includes Wizard Works, City Lights, Milwaukee Brewing and Broken Bat.

Another week, another fun beer pairing from MobCraft. This week it’s beer and potato chips on Zoom at 7 p.m. Order a kit, which includes four beers and four bags of chips, by noon on Thursday and pick it up on Saturday after 1 p.m.

Milwaukee Brewing will be at Discount Liquor Waukesha from noon to 3 p.m.

Sunday, April 25

The 33rd annual Blessing of the Bock comes to Falcon Bowl (801 E. Clarke St.) from noon to 4 p.m. Lakefront Brewery’s Jim Klisch will be there as his alter ego “Brother James” to do the blessing. A number of area breweries will be bringing their best bocks and there will be the John Harrison Memorial Homebrew Competitions, honoring Delafield Brewhaus’ brewmaster John Harrison, who sadly passed away recently.

MobCraft is teaming up with the Walker’s Point Association for a neighborhood clean up. Go to MobCraft (505 S. 5th St.) between noon and 4 p.m., grab a garbage bag and pick up around the neighborhood. When you return you’ll get a free pint from MobCraft. Everybody wins.
