The Abbotsford Police’s traffic enforcement unit is hosting a series of free virtual sessions called “Vehicle Maintenance 101 for Teens.”
Each of the sessions will include a question and answer period, and include plenty of tips to teach new drivers how to maintain their rides.
The first session is held on April 23 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. It will help youth learn the basics about getting to know their vehicles, teach pre-trip safety such as how to check tires, air pressure, and how to change a tire.
The second session is held on May 11 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and is called, What’s under the Hood? Officers will show them how to do a vehicle “spring clean up,” how to jump a battery, how to check fluids levels and more.
The third session is held on May 25 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and is all about motorcycle maintenance. In this lesson, officers will cover spring motorcycle maintenance, how to do an oil change, check tire pressure, brake pads, evidence of rodent damage and where air filters are located.
These sessions require advance registration through Eventbrite, and interested parties must register by 7 p.m. the night before the class. Once registered, you will receive a Zoom link.
