For local dino lovers, there is a Stephen Spielberg-like adventure coming to Milwaukee. It’s called the Dino Safari and it will be hosted at the Wisconsin State Fair Park (640 S. 84th St., West Allis).
You can transform your car into an adventure vehicle as you drive through this pop-up safari. They feature all the big-name dinos, including the T-Rex and the triceratops, but you can also get up close and personal to more exotic creatures like the spinosaurus and the Parasaurolophus (for Land Before Time fans, that is Ducky’s species).

It is an audio guided tour available in English and Spanish following a story chock-full of fun facts. You will also get a Dino Safari Survival Pack that has a scavenger hunt, coloring activity and other things for an even more engaging experience.
While driving through you will learn about the evolution of the dinosaurs, where they lived and learn from the research of real paleontologists about their discoveries. The Dino Safari is put together by the leading producer of museum exhibitions and paleontologist Gregory Ericson as a consultant. You may get caught in an earthquake, see dinosaurs battle it out for survival and if you find compassion, potentially save the life of a baby dino.
The dinosaurs are arriving at State Fair Park on April 18 and will stay until May 2. You can pick up your tickets online. They are selling tickets on a car-to-car basis, so the more people you bring, the more you save. A car with up to seven passengers is $50, a car with eight or more passengers is $60.
