Big new barrel-aged beer releases from the likes of Sahale Ale Works and 1840 Brewing Company, anniversaries for Broken Bat and Urban Harvest, and much more.

Wednesday, April 7

Lakefront Brewery hosts Cyber Sipping: Fruit in Beer on Zoom from 7 to 8 p.m. Pick up a tasting kit from 4 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday to sip while the experts weigh in on the topic virtually. The kit is just $30 and includes six assorted bottles of beer, a crowler of Apricot Hard Selzer, and a pair of tasting glasses.

Thursday, April 8

Ray’s Wine & Spirits toasts Bell’s Brewery with a virtual Oberon Day party from 6 to 7 p.m. Pick up some Oberon at Ray’s and sip on it while learning about Bell’s.

Friday, April 9

Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) is releasing Rummin’ With the Devil at 3 p.m. The Belgian strong ale is aged in rum barrels and weighs in at a devilish 12.666% ABV.

There are two beers being released this weekend at 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) and one is extremely limited. Antique Wheated Rye is in limited supply but sounds amazing. The brown ale has been aged for 24 months in a Weller Antique 107 bourbon barrel and 1840 Brewing only has 275 bottles available. The other release is Monk-Y Food Doppelbock. Both are available for preorder from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. Pickup is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday, April 10

Cheers to Broken Bat Brewery for four years of baseball-themed brews. They’ll be releasing six special anniversary beers on Saturday, including The Beast, a double bourbon barrel-aged Cracker Jack stout. You can preorder four-packs of the limited releases on Friday after 2 p.m. and pick them up on Saturday. You can also hang out at Broken Bat from noon to 10 p.m.

Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) is celebrating five years in business. They’re offering $1 off of taproom pours and releasing Pribok, a spring seasonal maibock. Congrats, Urban Harvest.

MobCraft Beer is pairing Girl Scout cookies with beer on Zoom at 7 p.m. Kits include five MobCraft beers and five different flavors of cookies. Order one by Thursday at noon and pick it up any time after 1 p.m. on Friday.

The Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) celebrates the fact that we’re halfway to Oktoberfest with live music and a free keg tapping at 3 p.m.

Sunday, April 11

Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) is hosting a roast of Jim Klisch, one of Milwaukee’s craft beer godfathers. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the roasting starts at 3 p.m. There will be specials on Lakefront Brewery beers, of course. Keep an eye on the events page for ticket info.
