Happy Birthday to Alix, Princess Napoléon, who turns 95 today! The daughter of Comte Albéric de Foresta and Geneviève Fredet, Alix de Foresta comes from a long established French Noble Family with roots in Italy. In 1949, she married Louis Napoleon, Prince Napoléon, son of Prince Napoléon and Princess Clémentine of Belgium and the Napoléonic Pretender to the French Throne. The Prince and Princess had four children, and lived between Paris and the Chateau de Prangins in Switzerland until his death in 1997, when he was succeeded by their grandson, Prince Jean-Christophe Napoléon. An honorary member of The Napoleonic Society of America, which is now The Napoléonic Historical Society, the Dowager Princess Napoléon has been a regular presence at royal events for decades and also works to preserve the Napoleonic legacy. She continues to reside in Switzerland. We wish HIH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
