Want To Be the Cream Puff Mascot?

Now’s your chance! Here’s how to apply.

Have you ever thought, “I want to dress myself in the garb of a cream puff and get paid.” If so, now’s your time to shine.

Original Cream Puffs is looking for a new “Cravin’ D. Cream Puffs.”

Cravin’, a giant anthropomorphized cream puff, wanders the Wisconsin State Fair spreading the gospel of the puff to believers and non-believers alike. The walking puff also participates in cream puff events year-round as the Puffs’ official mascot. This past year, Cravin’ has mostly been relegated to drive-thru puff sales, but with Wisconsin’s gradual pandemic re-opening underway, the mascot is sure to appear elsewhere.

According to the job’s description you must be both “reliable and entertaining,” and a “fun, positive and outgoing individual with a great attitude.” As a boring, morose recluse with a bitter and fatalistic attitude, I find this offensive, but that’s beside the point.

“Cravin’ brings joy to so many people,” says Paula Hare, the director of marketing and media relations. “It’s an important job in that Cravin’ represents a brand. A beloved brand that is known all around the state.”

The start date is negotiable, the employment part-time and the pay “based on experience.” According to Hare, the ideal candidate has a theater or marketing background.

Cravin’ also received a makeover this past year with a brand-new costume, pictured above.

The State Fair is set to run from Aug. 5-15. If you’re looking to get a little more involved this year, we’ve provided the application conveniently in this link.
