Winner’s Circle

Brooklinen Linen Core Sheet Set in white.

Brooklinen Linen Core Sheet Set

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: Linen
  • Colors available: White, cream, petal, haze, charcoal chambray, charcoal chambray, and white stripe
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Madeleine Luckel, senior design editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I really felt like linen sheets had become all the rage. This was a couple years ago, and while I toyed with the vision of a perfectly wrinkled dove gray set, I’m much more of a white bedding person. Brooklinen was one of two brands I was aware of making the type of linen sheets I wanted.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It’s really nice. When I got these I thought white linen sheets year-round might be a slightly bold move, since I don’t live my life on a Greek island, but the nature of the fiber is versatile and temperature regulating.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Yes, but they are a little bit thin. I’m fine with this, but it’s just something to keep in mind if you are picturing a super dense weave.

  • Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? Yes.
  • Pros: “Long side” and “short side” labeling on the fitted sheet for easy use, super-soft material, temperature-regulating design
  • Cons: Duvet cover runs a bit big, slightly thin sheet design
  • Washing Instructions: Machine-wash on a cold setting with like colors. Do not bleach and tumble dry on a low setting. You can iron these sheets on low, if necessary.

Parachute Organic Cotton Fitted Sheet

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: Organic cotton
  • Colors available: White, bisque, willow
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Rachel Fletcher, senior commerce editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I love the Parachute brand and, when they said they were releasing a line of organic bedding last year, I jumped at the chance to give them a try. They’re also made in Portugal, which is known for producing excellent linens. The factory that Parachute works with has been family-owned for generations.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It’s definitely not a silky smooth experience that you might get from a sateen weave, but it feels lovely nonetheless; it’s more of a grown up and tucked-in kind of vibe (which is a lot to say about a set of sheets). These sheets are clean and crisp, so there’s no stretchy action like you might expect with sheets of a lesser quality.

  • Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? I would. I try a lot of bedding in this line of work and, the more I do, the more I appreciate ethical and organic production—Who wants to think about the chemicals they’re breathing in while they sleep?—even if the price tag is a little bit higher.
  • Pros: Snug fit on the bed
  • Cons: Cotton sheet sets can lack the silky feel of other high-end materials; sheets sold separately
  • Washing Instructions: Machine-wash on a delicate cycle set on warm/cold water. Use mild laundry detergent and let the detergent dissolve in the water before loading your sheets. Tumble or air dry.

Best Eucalyptus Sheets: Buffy Eucalyptus Sheets

Buffy Breeze Sheet Set

  • Thread count: 300
  • Material: 100% eucalyptus fiber (Oeko-Tex certified)
  • Colors available: Blush, white, light gray, dark gray, light blue, and dark blue
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Zoë Sessums, digital design editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? These sheets got me interested by way of an Instagram ad. I was intrigued by the material—what does eucalyptus feel like?—and excited about the plant-dyed color options (they use ingredients like turmeric, gardenia, and pomegranate for the natural dying process).

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? These sheets are smoooooth and feel like a silk/cotton combo. The cool-to-the-touch nature of the material is ideal for warmer months and hot sleepers, so I found the experience very nice. They only get softer after each wash.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? I’m a fan! Not only are the sheets very lovely, but the mission of the brand is something to get behind. If you aren’t satisfied with your sheets, Buffy encourages you to donate them to someone in need—and you’ll still get a refund.

  • Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? Hypoallergenic, earth-friendly, naturally dyed, ultrasoft…would I recommend? 100%!
  • Pros: Great donation policy
  • Cons: Price investment
  • Washing Instructions: Machine-wash on a cold setting and tumble dry low.

Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set

  • Thread count: 300
  • Material: Organic long-staple cotton
  • Colors available: White, natural, dune, mist, pewter, stone, sky, shore, mineral
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Rachel Fletcher, senior commerce editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I was sold on the fact that Boll & Branch makes organic and fair trade sheets—and I love a sateen weave. Plus, the brand markets these as their bestselling sheet set around, so I wanted to see what the hype was about.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? Boll & Branch claims that these cotton sateen sheets are buttery soft, and I definitely agree. That extra-soft feel paired with the lovely, cooling properties of the sheets make them feel like the luxury sheets that they are.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Definitely. I also really appreciate the earthy color palette (I chose the mineral hue), and the hem detail is a really nice visual touch.

  • Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? 100%. They really are some of the softest sheets I’ve ever tried—but they’re definitely on the pricier end, so I’d caveat with that.
  • Pros: Buttery soft feel
  • Cons: Price investment
  • Washing Instructions: Machine-wash in cold water with like colors on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on medium heat. To avoid wrinkles, shake the sheets out between washing and drying and make sure the dryer isn’t overloaded so there’s room for the sheets to move around. The sheets are not preshrunk, so you may notice a tiny bit of shrinkage after a few washes.

Cozy Earth Linen Sheet Set

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: 70% bamboo viscose and 30% linen
  • Colors available: Natural beige and light gray
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Audrey Lee, commerce writer

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I’m a big fan of both my loungewear and bamboo sheet set from Cozy Earth, so when the brand released a linen version this year, I had high expectations. I’m not a particularly hot sleeper, but during the summer I like my bedding to have a little extra ventilation to combat humidity and high temps. Since linen is a seasonal wardrobe staple of mine, I was excited to experience what a bamboo hybrid material would feel and look like.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? Cozy Earth makes the best bamboo sheets, and their OG bedding is super light and airy, so it’s mostly a summer staple that’s out of my rotation come fall. Since these sheets are a bamboo-and-linen combo, they’re slightly weightier (but still incredibly comfortable and ultra breathable), making them an ideal year-round bedding. Plus, if you love the look of linen but maybe not the feel, these lean a little softer to the touch.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Even though I still prefer the OG 100% bamboo viscose bedding from the brand, I don’t think you should overlook these linen sheets. I sometimes find my 100% linen sheets a tad too rigid (especially if they’re on the newer side), but the added bamboo gave this set a noticeably soft and touch-friendly texture.

  • Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? Anyone who sleeps hot or just wants some more ventilation at night will be pleased with these sheets. I’d especially recommend them to someone who likes the way linen looks, but finds the textile too rigid.
  • Pros: Very airy design, great for hot sleepers
  • Cons: Slight drooping on the sides after a few sleeps
  • Washing Instructions: Machine was on a cold setting with normal detergent and no fabric softener. Don’t use bleach on these sheets. Machine-dry on a normal setting.

Lunya Washable Silk Flat Sheet

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: Silk
  • Colors available: White
  • Bed sheets reviewer: Sydney Gore, senior digital design editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I’m very pro-silk in general, and have been sleeping on silk pillowcases for almost a decade that I absolutely swear by. So, it was only a matter of time before I upgraded to silk sheets too! I foresee this as the next big boom in bedding, there’s truly nothing more luxurious than silk in a bedroom.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It feels like sleeping on a cloud! There’s something extra delicate about silk—it’s really gentle and smooth on the skin. Sleeping in the heat wave has been brutal, but these sheets added another layer of cooling to my bed that I hadn’t previously considered.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? I would say so! I set my expectations pretty mid, but these sheets were even better than I imagined. My parents are now requesting sets of their own!

  • Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? I firmly believe that everyone should give silk sheets a try at least once in their life.
  • Pros: Super-soft feel
  • Cons: Price investment
  • Washing Instructions: Machine-wash on cold with like colors on a delicate cycle. Do not use bleach and tumble dry on low. If needed, iron on a cool setting.

Best Silk Blend Sheets: BR Home Cotton Cashmere Silk Sheet Set

Cotton-Cashmere-Silk Sheet Set

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: 86% cotton, 9% cashmere, 5% silk
  • Colors available: White, sand, pewter
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Katarina Kovac, contributor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? Have you ever seen a bed sheet that is a mixture of cotton, cashmere and silk? I sure hadn’t. When BR Home released this set, I couldn’t wait to try it out as I had many ideas in my head as to what they would feel like. I’m someone who sticks to 100% cotton most of the time, but appreciates a softer feeling sheet, and was eager to see how I’d like these.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? Luxury is all that comes to mind thinking of what it’s like to sleep on these sheets. They’re soft, but not too soft, and breathable, but more suitable for colder months. The cotton provides the breathability, while the silk and cashmere give it an almost flannel-like feel. I tried flannel sheets for the first time this winter, and they were often too heavy handed, leaving me feeling like I was sleeping at a campsite rather than in my bedroom on my Jake Arnold for Crate & Barrel bed frame. These sheets by BR Home do the opposite of flannel; they keep me warm while allowing my space to remain zen and luxurious feeling.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Overall, yes, they did live up to my expectations. I initially expected less of the flannel feel that they have, but upon sleeping on them longer and washing them a few times, the softness of the cashmere and silk came shining through.

  • Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? I’d recommend these sheets to a friend who has a bigger budget for bedding and wants something soft and warm for colder months. They started to pill slightly after the second or third wash, which is something to be aware of for a bed set that is $550. I don’t think they’re worth the hefty price tag for someone who’s looking for a more reasonable price point and just needs something to do the job and look nice. These are certainly a splurge and the right customer is someone who has the financial means, wants the feel of a softer thermal sheet, and loves warm tones.
  • Pros: Warm and super soft with the blend of cotton, cashmere, silk; beautiful neutral colors
  • Cons: Expensive
  • Washing Instructions: Machine-wash

Linen sheets

Linen is a fantastic material to sleep on. Why? It’s naturally bacteria resistant, ventilating, moisture-absorbing, and anti-allergenic. For being such a light and airy material, it’s actually quite a hard worker. Linen is especially great for hot sleepers, as the sheets don’t retain heat and will keep you cool through the nastiest of heat waves (something even the best cotton sheets can’t do). And even though linen is pretty much the opposite of wrinkle-free, it’s not a bad look: it’s an effortless material that looks best when lived in. Best part? There are plenty of affordable options on the market, as well, in a world of pricier offerings.

Quince European Linen Sheet Set

Quince European Linen Sheet Set

  • Material: 100% European flax
  • Colors available: White, light grey, terracotta, charcoal, sand, washed olive, tobacco, desert sunset, mist, indigo blue, sage, soft blush, Bordeaux, natural/white, mist/white, terracotta/white
  • Bed sheets reviewer: Erika Owen, contributor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I love a color theme, especially in my bedroom. I went with the sage, which is deliciously subtle and seems to match with everything. I am always a fan of linen sheets, as they’re naturally breathable and moisture-wicking and I’ll keep them on the bed year-round. I also love that Quince sheets are free of harmful characters and toxins (plus, their loungewear is a total dream).

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? They always seem to be cool, which is a feat in our apartment, where the temperature varies wildly. I loved the lived-in, wrinkled look they pick up after a sleep or two. The sheets also feel like they’ll hold up for years to come.

Coyuchi Organic Relaxed Linen Sheets

Organic Relaxed Linen Sheets

Organic Relaxed Linen Sheets

  • Material: 100% linen
  • Colors available: Redwood, harbor blue, laurel, alpine white, natural chambray, fog, slate
  • Bed Sheets reviewer: Sam Cochran, global features director

What attracted you to these bed sheets? Nowadays linen sheets make regular appearances in the pages of AD, as they’ve become the bedding of choice for the likes of star stylist Colin King. Maybe it’s because I can be a bit lazy when it comes to making the bed, but I have always been drawn to their relaxed, rumpled look. No military-style tight tucks in my boudoir, thank you.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? Linen sheets always take some breaking in. I washed mine twice to loosen up the texture and soften the weave, helping the fabric to realize its drapey potential. They’re still a touch stiff on account of the heavy, quality linen, but as with all linen sheets they need some tossing and turning to get them into ideal condition. Give ’em another week of slumber, I think, and they’ll be just dreamy.

Percale sheets and cotton sheets

Crisp and smooth, percale sheets are a great option for hot sleepers. Thread counts often exceed 200, resulting in a tight weave that gives the sheets a sturdier feel. Despite the added heft, they’re still incredibly breathable and moisture-wicking. Woven in a cross-cross pattern, percale sets are made from high-quality or long-staple cotton. Percale sheets are sometimes made with cotton mixed with other materials like silk or rayon, which give them a silkier feel. One of the other perks of percale sheets is that they often pill less than other materials.

Matouk Egyptian Cotton Sheeting

Matouk Bergamo Sheeting

  • Thread count: 500
  • Material: Egyptian cotton percale (Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified)
  • Colors available: Honey, truffle, red, white, charcoal, silver, baltic, pool, azure, hazy blue, bone/white, silver/white, and pool/white
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Allie Weiss, U.S. digital director

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I’ve long heard the name Matouk mentioned in conversations about cream-of-the-crop bedding, and was eager to try it myself! The Bergamo style appealed to me for its simplicity in appearance—no frills, just a simple satin stitch that would work on nearly every style bed. The brand promises this high-end percale to be silky and light, two descriptors that I’m sure pretty much everyone would want to associate with their sheets.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? I barely noticed them—and I mean that in the best way! I hate scratchy sheets, and breathed a sigh of relief when I slipped into these. They are both lightweight, crisp looking, and soft to the touch—talk about a win-win.

Beach Club Percale Sheet Set

Editor’s note: Unfortunately, the Serena & Lily set that our editor Madeleine Luckel sampled (the Bristol Percale) is no longer available. We recommend checking out another one of the brand’s high-quality percale options, the Beach Club Percale set, which the brand tells us has a nearly identical base cloth.

Serena & Lily Beach Club Percale Sheet Set

  • Thread count: 200
  • Material: Cotton percale
  • Colors available: White, fog, coastal blue, hydrangea, French blue, midnight
  • Bed Sheet reviewer: Madeleine Luckel, senior design editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I liked that they are classic with a hint of something different! I usually go for all-white sheets and bedding, but the light blue piping felt like it added a teeny bit more personality, while letting these sheets stay basically a neutral factor in any bedroom. I also like cool, cotton sheets—so the material appealed to me.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It was nice! I felt like I was going to sleep in a good hotel bed. Or perhaps a good hotel bed, in a classic if slightly preppy resort, haha.

Cooling sheets

There are plenty of sheets on the market aimed at hot sleepers. For some, sleeping is always a sweaty activity—no matter the season. Often, these sheet sets are made of materials like bamboo, linen, and eucalyptus fiber, which are naturally moisture-wicking.

Deep Pocket Bamboo Cotton Sheets

Brooklyn Bedding Deep Pocket Bamboo Cotton Sheets

Brooklyn Bedding Deep Pocket Bamboo Cotton Sheets

  • Thread count: 300
  • Material: Bamboo cotton
  • Colors available: White, Khaki, Silver
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Terri Williams, contributor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I wanted some breathable bamboo sheets, since bamboo is a sustainable material. Also, I hate scratchy sheets, so I wanted some that were soft and comfortable. The sheets also needed to have deep pockets, since I have a higher profile mattress. I also like a variety of neutral color choices. These sheets checked all of those boxes.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It’s an enjoyable experience. Bamboo cotton is so soft, and it’s also moisture-wicking, so I stay cool throughout the night. The sheets also stay in place, so I never have to worry about them sliding up the sides of the mattress.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Yes. Even after weekly washings, the sheets have retained their color and crispness, and look as good as they did on day one.

Sheets & Giggles Eucalyptus Sheet Set

Sheets & Giggles Eucalyptus Sheet Set

  • Thread count: 400
  • Material: 100% eucalyptus lyocell
  • Colors available: Mint green, pearl, purple, blue, white, and grey
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Kristi Kellogg, contributor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I was in the market for new bed sheets and headed to Amazon. These 400-thread-count sheets stood out for their many rave reviews. They’re billed as super soft, hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking, and naturally cooling, thanks to the eucalyptus lyocell fabric. As an added bonus, they’re chemical-free and sustainably made. Oh, they also come with a lifetime warranty. How can you go wrong? I got them in gray.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? They’ve got a smooth, silky feel that is, really, nothing like a regular cotton sheet—the cooling effect is the most noticeable thing about them. These bed sheets are super refreshing when it’s hot out.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Yes! I liked them. Not only were they comfortable, the gray color is beautiful.

Sijo Eucalyptus Sheets

Sijo Eucalyptus Sheets

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: 100% Tencel lyocell
  • Colors available: Fog, forest, snow, dove, sky, pebble, blush
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Rachel Fletcher, senior commerce editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? Being a hotter sleeper, I wanted to try a eucalyptus set of sheets—this eco-friendly, Tencel lyocell blend from Sijo fit the bill! The sustainability and breathability of the fabric really stood out to me.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? These sheets have an almost liquid, viscose kind of feel. Like slippery, but in a nice and cooling way versus an “I’m going to slide off this bed” kind of a way. It’s kind of like sleeping on a perfectly worn in vintage T-shirt that also keeps you from getting sweaty. They don’t cling to every corner, and have a satiny shine.

Sunday Citizen Natural Premium Bamboo Top Sheet and Bamboo Fitted Sheet

Sunday Citizen Natural Premium Bamboo Top Sheet

Sunday Citizen Natural Premium Bamboo Fitted Sheet

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: Viscose from bamboo
  • Colors available: Moon (gray), buttermilk, coal, denim, clay, taupe, white, blush, sage
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Rachel Wallace, digital entertainment editor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I have had bamboo sheets before and love how light and soft the material is. I like to sleep as cool as possible.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? The sheets keep me cool and are luxuriously soft. I have no complaints about the feeling of the material and quality of sleep.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? They exceeded my expectations. I knew they would feel nice but I went a bit outside the box with the color. I have exclusively had white sheets for years but opted for the clay shade this time. When I first opened the box I felt a bit unsure about my decision, but once I got the sheets on my bed and saw the color against my wall and the rest of my decor, I was so happy. It is really rich and gorgeous. If you like the look of a sort of terra-cotta color, go for it.

Sateen sheets

Sateen distinguishes the weave of the sheets, not the material (they’re still cotton after all). Made of a looser weave and thick yarn, sateen sheets often have a slightly silky and smooth texture. This is due to the long cotton fibers being soaked in lye, sealing the fibers and giving them added durability. Sateen is great for hot sleepers since the sheets always seem cool to the touch.

Brooklinen Luxe Starter Sheet Set

Brooklinen Luxe Starter Sheet Set

  • Thread count: 480
  • Material: 100% long-staple cotton (Oeko-Tex certified)
  • Colors available: White, cream, graphite, and windowpane
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Rachel Fletcher, senior commerce editor

What attracted you most to these beds sheets? This set is super classic, smooth, and has a crisp feel. When my dog was little, she loved to dig into my sheets so I started buying less-expensive options that I knew I wouldn’t care about if they were destroyed. Now that she’s older, I was looking to upgrade to something more adult and high end. I also appreciate that, while they’re not organic, they’re chemical-free.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? I'm a hot sleeper with sensitive skin and they're really cool on my skin at night, which is a huge relief. I love the breathability of these sheets. They're really smooth and not at all scratchy or harsh on my skin, like some of the less expensive options I've tried in the past.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Absolutely. They feel super well made and have gotten better every time I wash them.

Riley Home Sateen Sheet Set

Riley Home Sateen Sheet Set

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: 100% premium long-staple combed cotton
  • Colors available: White, mist, and slate
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Sophia Herring, contributor

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I’ve only ever used cotton sheets, so I was curious about trying out a sateen set. I was also intrigued by the beautiful blue sheen the mist color gave off in the photographs and wanted to see how it compared in real life.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? At first wash I was hesitant because they weren’t quite as soft as I wanted. However, this is definitely a personal preference because my partner found them to be perfect. I remembered that the website had mentioned that they get softer with every wash, so to my partner’s dismay I threw them in the machine a few times, and now they’re perfect…for me.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? They did, so much so that I have successfully ordered the duvet cover and sham set for a full-sateen moment. The glistening arrangement has created the perfect bedroom ambiance, calling my name every evening. I’m a restless sleeper as well, so it’s always a true test to see how the sheets hold up by morning. Every so often I wake up and find they’ve slipped off the corners and crumpled up onto the middle of my bed, so it’s a nice change that these never seem to budge.

Hill House Home Savile Top Sheet and Savile Fitted Sheet

Hill House Home Savile Top Sheet

Hill House Home Savile Fitted Sheet

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: 100% brushed cotton sateen
  • Colors available: White sheets with the option of trim in pure white, powder blue, classic black, or emerald green.
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Katarina Kovac, commerce producer

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I’m a huge fan of the quality that Nell Diamond of Hill House Home continuously aims for with the home products she debuts, and these sheets instantly spoke to me with their clean lines. I wanted something that was crisp yet elevated, and the colored trim in the Savile Sheets was my answer.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? I’m quite a sheet snob myself, and have returned many sets in the past that largely resembled sandpaper. After one wash these felt soft, velvety, and breathable against my skin, leaving me truly struggling to get out of bed in the morning.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Yes, they absolutely did. For a $100 top sheet and $125 fitted sheet, I truly didn’t know what to expect from a brand as new to the decor game as Hill House Home, but was delightfully surprised at the quality and attention to detail that was put into making these products.

Lola & Veranda Matisse Daisies Bundle

Lola & Veranda Matisse Daisies Sheets

  • Thread count: N/A
  • Material: Organic cotton; sateen weave
  • Colors available: The Matisse Daisies print is only available in one color combination (blue and green graphics on a white ground). Designer Zandra Rhodes also has a second print in the line, called “Banana Leaf,” which presents blue, red, and beige patterns on white. For the pattern-shy, Lola & Veranda offers solid options in “Marshmallow Memories” (a warm white), “Cream & Two Sugars” (a very light café au lait shade), and “Fresh Mint Tea” (a soft green).
  • Bed sheet reviewer: Lila Allen, senior editor, AD PRO

What attracted you to these bed sheets? Aside from wanting to test out the fun print, I was drawn in by Lola & Veranda’s business model—and its promise of consistently refreshed bedding. Rather than selling sheets item by item, the brand offers a subscription that includes a trade-in every six months. There’s an annual fee of $99 to join, but after that, you pay monthly based on the bundle you select. (This set of seven pieces—four pillow covers, a fitted sheet, top sheet, and duvet cover—runs $45/month.) When you hit that half-year mark, Lola & Veranda sends you a fresh bundle of your choosing, along with a prepaid shipping return label so you can send your oldies back.

If you’re cringing thinking about all that fabric ending up in a landfill, the brand is one step ahead of you. Used linens go one of a few routes, depending on the condition they’re in when you return them. The ones in good shape are restored, repackaged, and made available for a reduced price on the Lola & Veranda website; bedding that can't be fully restored is transformed into accessories, donated to shelters, recycled and rewoven, or given to artists. In the end, there's zero waste—including from the packaging, which is compostable.

It’s worth noting that Lola & Veranda only offers sheets in these bundle sets; individual SKUs are not available.

What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? I slept well on them! The sheets are 300-thread count—the Goldilocks zone of bedding. But for me, the best part about this bundle was definitely the zippy pattern.

Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Yes! I was also pleasantly surprised by the pretty, compostable packaging. (Sheets sold in single-use plastic make me squirm.)

How do we test our sheets?

Here at Clever, we don’t test sheets in a lab—we test them in our very own homes. Why? Because that’s where you’ll be using them, too. Each of the sets in our Best Of roundups has been washed, dried, and slept on for countless nights by one of our editors to ensure that we’ve put them through the ringer. The sets are selected to reflect a variety of price points, materials, and styles and we pride ourselves in giving each set first-hand, real world use.

Microfiber sheets

Microfiber is a budget-friendly option when it comes to buying a new set of sheets. Super thin and lightweight, these sheets are made of a combination of materials, from polyester to wood pulp. While we have tried a few sets of microfiber sheets, we don’t recommend microfiber as a material just because we feel like there are plenty of other more quality sheets to choose from instead.
