The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 16 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 13 are locally transmitted and three are imported.

Among the local cases, four have unknown sources of infection.

One of the unlinked cases involves a 66-year-old postnatal care helper who last went to work on February 11. She developed sore throat, cough, runny nose and diarrhoea on February 19. She tested positive for the virus after she went to a mobile specimen collection station for testing the next day.

The second case involves a 76-year-old retired man. He developed sore throat and shortness of breath on February 5. He went to a mobile specimen collection station for testing on February 20 and tested positive.

The third case involves a 41-year-old man who developed sore throat, cough, runny nose and headache on February 17. He attended a private practitioner the same day.

His deep throat saliva sample, submitted to a general outpatient clinic the next day, tested positive. He is a computer officer and last attended work on February 11.

The remaining unlinked case involves a 62-year-old retired man who developed runny nose on February 19. He went to a mobile specimen collection station for testing the same day and tested positive.

A total of 233 cases have been recorded in the past 14 days, including 192 local cases of which 76 are from unknown sources.

Meanwhile, seven buildings with one or more new confirmed cases are now covered by compulsory testing notices.

People who had been at these premises for more than two hours from February 9 to 22 must undergo testing by February 24.

The Government will set up mobile specimen collection stations tomorrow at Wah Kwai Community Hall in Pok Fu Lam, the open carpark of Wiseman Building in North Point, the carpark of Quarry Bay Community Hall, the podium of Tung Shing Court in Shau Kei Wan, the badminton court of Affluence Garden in Tuen Mun and Heng On Estate Community Centre in Ma On Shan.

Additionally, the service period of the mobile stations at Edinburgh Place in Central will be extended to February 25.
