This is not unexpected

The final phrase, we can all live a life of service, strikes me as a deliberate deprecation. In any case, it is a gratuitous remark.

It's important to remember, I think, that the Queen's constitutional position and her lifelong selfless sense of duty for nearly 70 years is the only reason anybody has heard of Prince Harry. The Royal Family is not a brand, it is a network of support for our hard working monarch.

I don't know that it's customary to give a statement or respond whenever the Queen puts out a statement. I don't recall any other, at least not in recent times. Perhaps Ms. Eilers can elucidate? Regarding their statement, of course service is available to everyone, but I don't think that "generic service" is what the Queen was talking about. Their statement seems like they're keen not to be seen as shirking their duty. But unfortunately, in doing so they also seem to be throwing shade on the Queen, which she certainly doesn't deserve.
