A report of a Wheeling home invasion that Wheeling police responded to about 4:40 PM Thursday February 11, 2021 near Hintz Road and Wolf Road Wheeling, was located at the Foxboro Apartments complex in the block of 400 Allen Court in Wheeling, according to Wheeling Police Department.

Offenders were initially described as five male/black suspects and two female/black suspects. This week police released information that a Wheeling resident is deliberately hampering the police investigation into the home invasion at his apartment, which is located just north of Chicago Executive Airport and just west of Wolf Road.

Police have revealed that the 19-year-old primary victim — and his two friends who were with him at the apartment during the home invasion — are not cooperating with police, according to the Wheeling Police Department.

The victims have signed a refusal to cooperate and prosecute form, according to Wheeling Police Department.

The victims’ testimonies also may not be entirely accurate.

The primary victim was in his apartment with two friends and a female guest he met on a social media site. The female guest was accompanied by another female. The female guests left the apartment, but soon returned with five male offenders armed with firearms. The victims were tied up and battered by the offenders, according to a police report.

The female guests participated in the home invasion, likely as ruses to gain access to the apartment, and to gain confidence of the victims.

The offenders took clothing, a video game system, cellphones and computers.

Initially, police received a report that one of the male/black offenders was described as having a large build with dreadlocks and a neck tattoo. Also, police initially received a report that the offenders fled in an aqua blue 2004 Honda Accord with no front license plate. There was metal hanging from the rear driver’s side of the vehicle near the rear tire. The direction of travel of the suspects’ vehicle was initially unknown.
