A cathartic unpacking of my late dad's vintage shop tools

In this video, Josh Welton shares moments from unpacking shop tools that belonged to his late father, Tim Welton, who passed away unexpectedly in March 2020.

“Going through Dad’s tools has helped me with the grieving process," Josh said. "As I sort through and touch each one and the things that he made with them, it’s cathartic, and I find myself having conversations with him like, ‘Dad, what did you use this for?’”

Josh has shared previously about his belief that objects can have a soul based on what was put into making the tool or what was made with it.

“So to now have those tools and put them to use feels like dad will be with me out in the shop more than ever,” he said.
