Virus testing verified

February 10, 2021

The Government today said the joint enforcement action on compulsory testing notice at Po Lee Building in Quarry Bay has been completed, in which 25 residents were found to have violated the notice.

The enforcement action was conducted by the Eastern District Office, together with the Home Affairs Department’s Office of the Licensing Authority, the Eastern Police District and the Auxiliary Medical Service from 6.45am to 9am, during which more than 110 residents’ test records were checked.

The Government thanked the residents who complied with the compulsory testing notice for their co-operation to fight the virus together. Those who violated the notice have been issued fixed penalties of $5,000 and/or compulsory testing orders that require them to undergo testing within a specified period.

Noting that the enforcement process may cause some inconvenience to the residents, the Government appealed for their understanding as the operation was conducted to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community as soon as possible.
