Townhouse Fire, 2 Hurt on Mallard Lane Near Huntington Commons Road in Mount Prospect

Police firefighters, and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 3:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2020 to a report of an townhouse fire in the block of 1300 Mallard Lane in Mount Prospect.

Engine 12’s crew on arrival reported fire showing from the second floor of an apartment building.




Two patients with smoke inhalation met with paramedics by about 3:15 a.m. At least one patient was transported to a nearby hospital, but the patient transport count was not initially available Monday morning.

Des Plaines, Prospect Heights, and Wood Dale ambulances were assigned to the call.




A MABAS Division 1 Box Alarm #1202 was activated at 3:57 a.m. to assigned extra personnel and fire and EMS equipment to the scene.

Firefighters, paramedics, and command officers from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, North Maine, Palatine, Palatine Rural, Prospect Heights, and Schaumburg were assigned to the scene

The fire was declared “loss stopped” at 7:49 a.m.

Firefighters faced difficult weather conditions with air temperature 2°F reported at 2:51 a.m. Monday by the National Weather Service at O’Hare International Airport.
