A COMMISSION is being set-up to decide how best the town can honour Keighley-born Captain Sir Tom Moore.
The fundraising hero – who coined-in over £32 million for NHS charities by walking laps of his garden – died last week, aged 100.
Now Keighley MP Robbie Moore is heading-up a commission to discuss a lasting memorial.
The public will be asked for its suggestions.
Community leaders, civic figures and representatives from education, health and the armed forces will be invited to join the commission.
Mr Moore said: “Captain Sir Tom Moore was an inspiration.
"During the dark days of the pandemic, he brought a glimmer of hope to all and inspired a whole nation.
"It would be a fitting tribute if his birth town could honour this local hero with a long-lasting memorial.
"I have already received lots of suggestions from members of the public as well as businesses."
