Smooth start for app pilot scheme

February 4, 2021

The Government said that a pilot scheme under which the LeaveHomeSafe mobile app is used at government buildings or offices ran smoothly on its first day and thanked its employees and the public for their co-operation.

It launched the pilot scheme today to remind government employees and the public to use the mobile app at the entrances of government buildings or offices, where temporary service stations are set up to assist people to install the app.

The scheme aims to better assist the Centre for Health Protection in epidemiological investigations and further protect the health and safety of government employees and the public.

The first phase covers the Central Government Offices and the Tai Po Government Offices, while phase two will cover Harbour Building, and the Mong Kok and Tuen Mun Government Offices from February 16.

The Government hopes to further encourage its employees and the public to establish a habit of recording their whereabouts during the fight against the epidemic.

The app's usage will be progressively extended to more government buildings and offices, and the relevant departments have been requested to take forward the preparatory work.

The Government also encouraged people to download the mobile app as soon as possible and use it frequently.
