Security guard attacked, run over in parking lot by men he asked to leave bar

SAN ANTONIO — A security guard was run over by a car after being attacked by a group of men he asked to leave a Texas sports bar, investigators said.

Police said a 27-year-old security guard was “jumped” around 1:30 a.m. by the three men he kicked out of Ojo Locos Sports Cantina, KABB reported.

The security guard escorted the men from the bar for causing a disturbance, KSAT reported. When they got outside the trio attacked him.

After the beating, the men got into a car and tried to leave. The security guard fired several shots to try and stop them. He tried to get out of the way but was hit by the car. He fired several more shots at them as they drove away.

The security guard, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital. He is in stable condition.

Shortly after the incident, a 24-year-old man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound, KABB reported. He is in critical condition.

Investigators believe he was involved in the incident. Other suspects and their car have not been located.
