At any time, Isaiah Thomas could return to the NBA.
Former Boston Celtics star Thomas is reportedly engaging with a few teams for his possible comeback in the basketball league.
Isaiah Thomas Eyes Comeback
Last month, Thomas hinted at his interest to play in the NBA. As per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, free agent Isaiah Thomas hired Bernie Lee of Quartexx Basketball to represent him during the discussion with the other teams.
The 31-year-old point guard only spent 40 games last season with the Washington Wizards. He averaged 12.2 points, 3.6 assists, and 1.7 rebounds while shooting 40.8 % from the field and 41.3 % from beyond the arc in 23.1 minutes. Shortly, he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers but was immediately waived.
A year later, Thomas recovered from the hip injury and he looked confident to dribble again in 2021. According to NBC Sports, the two-time All-Star said that he is already 100 percent healthy to compete in the court this time.
Thomas, who got his first All-Star recognition in 2016 and 2017 with the Celtics, joined the scrimmage with some of the NBA stars. His practice games with Brooklyn Nets duo Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant and former Wizards' teammate John Wall turned into an effective drill for his recovery.
Isaiah Thomas' golden days were in Boston. When he was still healthy, he carried the rebuilding Celtics in the Eastern Conference playoffs in 2016 and 2017. His terrific average of 28.9 points and 5.9 assists garnered him a lot of fans during his 2016-2017 stint.
IT's weakness became evident when he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving, who headed to the Celtics.
Since Thomas was drafted No.60 pick in the second round by the Sacramento Kings in 2011, he has played with seven NBA teams: Kings, Celtics, Cavaliers, Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets.

It's still undetermined which teams did Thomas negotiated for a possible comeback, but for the solid IT fans during his Celtics days, it would be a relief. Thomas said that if ever he could come back again in Boston, he would love to contribute to the bench scoring unit.
In a report by Mass Live, Thomas tweeted about his eagerness to start as a bench scorer. But, as the season fared well for the Celtics, rookie Payton Prichard will likely be one of the leaders off the bench.
Thomas deleted his tweet after learning that Pritchard can overtake his role on the sideline.
Before his season-ending hip injury, IT burst into a 22-point scoring in his Lakers debut off the bench after collapsing to the Dallas Mavericks in 2018. A month later, he notched 29 points, his season-high in 2018.
In 2019, IT found another home in Denver, where he delivered his third-quarter, eight-point production in Nuggets' 120-118 victory to the Kings.
IT is only 5-foot-9, but his passionate heart on the court is what makes him bigger than the rest of his competitors. Whatever team he will choose, Thomas hopes to bounce back from the nightmares that haunt his past.
