Appleby has advised Velocity Sports Partners, the sports investment arm of US firm ALK Capital, on the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Premier League football club Burnley FC from, among others, the outgoing Chairman and Director of the club, Michael Garlick.
Appleby worked with Appleby Global Services to establish the acquisition structure, providing the client with an integrated legal and administrative service. They worked with onshore legal counsel Pinsent Masons throughout the transaction.
