Bedell Cristin and Ogier act in sale of Robus Group

Bedell Cristin Guernsey has acted as lead counsel for the vendor shareholders in the sale of Guernsey-based insurance manager Robus Group to UK-based broking and underwriting group Ardonagh.

Robus also has offices in Gibraltar and Malta.

The Bedell Cristin team was led by Partner Richard Sharp, assisted by Associate Tendai Gakanje.  

The team also coordinated overseas legal advice from Hassans (Gibraltar) and Ganado Advocates (Malta) and worked with Antony Prynn from KPMG Channel Islands, who provided sell-side advisory services.

In addition, Ogier acted as lead counsel for the Ardonagh Group, led by Partner Tim Clipstone, assisted by Senior Associate James Walsh and Legal Assistant James Dickinson.

They worked alongside Gilbratar law firm Isolas and Malta firm Camilleri Preziosi in respect of the Gibraltar and Malta aspects of the transaction.

According to reports, Robus will continue to operate as an independent company under the leadership of CEO Richard Le Tocq.
