Palm Springs police: 1 injured in McDonald's parking lot shooting

One man was taking to St. Mary's Medical Center as a trauma patient.

PALM SPRINGS — A man is in a hospital after a shooting in a McDonald's parking lot Tuesday afternoon, city police said. 

Officers were called to the fast-food restaurant on the northwest corner at the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard and Congress Avenue at 12:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a 41-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, according to police. His condition was unknown as of Tuesday afternoon. 

Investigators learned the unidentified man had an unknown altercation with another man. The other unidentified man shot him and then fled the scene westbound on Forest Hill Boulevard. 

Police did not have anyone in custody Tuesday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.
