Actress Tanya Roberts, best known for her work on Charlie’s Angels and That ’70s Show, died on Monday night at the age of 65, The New York Times has confirmed.
Roberts was hospitalized at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital after collapsing on Christmas Eve. Following a discouraging hospital visit on Sunday, Roberts’ domestic partner Lance O’Brien believed that Roberts had passed. Without speaking to medical staff, O’Brien relayed this misinformation to Roberts’ rep, who incorrectly confirmed her death to the media on Sunday. The story took an unexpected turn on Monday when that same rep announced that Roberts was, in fact, still alive.
Inside Edition even has footage of the moment O’Brien learned (mid-interview!) that Roberts was still alive:
In a separate interview, O’Brien explained to Fox News that Roberts was initially hospitalized for complications of a UTI, which then “spread to her kidneys, liver and gallbladder before it got into her blood.”
Roberts will be remembered by millions for her work on the small screen — she starred on Charlie’s Angels as Julie Rogers (1980–1981), before playing Midge Pinciotti on That ’70s Show (1998–2004) — as well as for her performances in films like A View to a Kill (1985) and The Beastmaster (1982). Roberts’ additional TV credits included roles on The Love Boat (1982), Fantasy Island (1982) and Silk Stalkings (1995), among other popular shows.
TVLine has reached out to Roberts’ representation for comment.
May she rest in peace, but this was like Tom Petty all over again.
Look, I am just going to do it so it’s out of the way and we can move on…
“You only live twice” – TVLine – this story.
Where was the boyfriend when she was in the hospital?
Probably at home. Most hospitals are not allowing visitors in right now.
I read on other site, he wasn’t allow in the hospital. They brought him in for an end of life visit, and he said goodbye and they took her off life support. Shortly after he left her room is when he ran into her rep and told him, that he had just said good bye to her. and that’s how the roller coaster of misinformation started.
Whatever site you read that on is wrong. Even by his own words.
Hmmm…let me guess who you voted for while wearing a tinfoil hat.
I voted for Biden via absentee ballot while sitting in my bedroom next to the photo of my dead mother, a staunch Democrat who held local office, who threatened to disown me if I ever voted Republican as a child.
.
I’m sorry that to you facts are things you can pick and choose to believe. That even minimal research is too hard for you to learn the actual time line of events. That Lance’s own stating of the story does not line up with what the OP said.
.
Keep trying. You might get it right some day. *Might*.
The please direct us to the “real” information. So tired of people like you just calling others out without providing facts. It’s sad pathetic and most of all…TIRING.
BTW…your story…you could sell that crap to Hallmark.
So..you vote the way your mommy told you to?? The Left never ceases to amuse.
@FedUp I’m tired of people being assholes like you but we can’t all get what want can we?
.
FYI I did post updated information yesterday on TVLine’s other article about what Lance said had happened before TVLine even did. Before she actually passed away today. I’m not responsible for doing YOUR homework.
.
Don’t care one iota if you believe me or not about my mother. I don’t need your belief because Iived it. I live with her loss every day. I carry her words with me everywhere I go. Her smile, her laugh, her comforting hand on mine. Those memories I think about often. Your validation of my story is neither desired nor required. I simply answered your question about how I voted. Because I voted for Biden because she couldn’t. I wouldn’t have voted at all if she were still alive. I didn’t in 2016 because I refused to pick between a rock and a hard place. If you don’t want to know these things then don’t post comments about me saying otherwise. That way I won’t need to correct you.
Hiding behind your mother… How mature.
@M1n4 Not hiding behind anybody. 🖕
Rip…and prayers for the family. Enough on this story.
wow what a rollercoaster of emotions for her friends and family. Very sad
Are we sure this time?
yes because this time it was confirmed by the hospital which is how this whole mess started as the announcement could’ve been made today but as this story states he never consulted with doctors and went right to the media saying she died, and again in these situations you usually have the publicist, family and hospital all confirm
What a weird and sad rollercoaster. RIP
I guess I’ll take their word for it..Maybe even more of a bummer the second time..Truly one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen, and with those incredible eyes and that great speaking voice. In my youth she was the stuff a young man’s dreams were made of..She still is, all these years later.
it’s nice to be attracted to someone. But its far better to acknowledge their talent and smarts at this tragic time in her life and the life of her boyfriend. Looks arent everything.
CA was before my time and I never watched T70sS but “Sheena” was a film that would be on repeat on cable when I was a kid. I loved it despite it being a B film. I started to read the comics it was based on because of it. Eventually I saw “Beastmaster” as well. She had such captivating eyes. Sad what happened to her. Her death will most likely be overshadowed by the circus of it’s reporting rather than for her loss. I don’t even know what else to say except thank you for the memories.
Sheena is a very enjoyable piece of fluff, as is Beastmaster. However, there’s a misconception that Sheena is a B-movie. While it does have the spirit of a B-movie, it was a major release. With a budget of $25 million, in 1984 dollars, and directed by Towering Inferno’s John Guillerman and produced by Columbia Pictures, Sheena was a big budget film. Her next film, 1985’s James Bond in A View to a Kill had a $30 million dollar budget.
If you loved Tanya in Beastmaster and Sheena, check her out in 1983’s sword adventure Hearts and Armour. Her reddish-brown hair intact, she looks stunning.
For sure “Sheena” would not qualify as a pre-Golden Age era B flick. But post-Golden Age it is often used to describe these kinds of films that are slightly exploitative and are more full of fluff than substance despite the budget. The term has changed so much over the decades that it may be only useful when talking film theory and/or history. It’s like of like when people describe a new film coming out as a noir film. You can’t make a noir film if you understand the history of noir films.
I need to see where I can catch “Sheena” so I’ll I will definitely check out the film you mentioned as well. Thanks.
Well, like a popular Daytime soap opera character I am sure she will rise like a Phoenix again one day just as her significant other is at the alter ready to marry again. 😂
That’s just gross AF and so inappropriate. Joking about somebody’s death is beyond apathetic, it’s downright shameful. Seriously, where are the GoT Nuns and their shame bells?
What “popular Daytime soap opera character”?
Just watched Beastmaster on Amazon Prime. She was so attractive on that. R.I.P
When Paul Newman died I felt such a great loss. But not because he was gorgeous (which he was). But because he was an incredibly talented actor and good human being. I suggest you expand your horizons and realize that women actresses can also be much more than simply beautiful or not. Its disrespectful to their memory, intellect and hard work. It would have been nice if you acknowledged hers.
A BEAUTY SHE WAS..
BOYFRIEND????QUESTIONABLE!
God needed a beautiful Angel in Heaven. She was my favorite Angel and Bond girl! Beautiful woman she was a Joy to watch, great actress !
If she is on oxygen. She’s probably in a coma. If it’s a brain aneurysm. It fits what the article wrote. She mayprobebly will not wake up.
I’ve known who she was for a very long time, that wants to mess with anything else she was on including Charlie’s Angels, but that 70’s Show is where I saw more of her than anything else, she really played a good airhead
RIP
Love this woman .glad it is fake news.best wishes Tanya
So sad, cause she didn’t even have children. I’ll bet she would have been a great mom!
So sorry to hear. She was such a pretty lady.
