NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with farmers from six different states on December 25 via video conferencing.
The Prime Minister will also release the next instalment of financial benefit under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) and enable transfer of more than Rs 18,000 crores to more than 9 crores beneficiary farmer families, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

"PM Modi will have a conversation with farmers from 6 different states during the event. The farmers will share their experiences with PM-KISANPM Modi to interact with farmers from 6 states, release Rs 18,000 crore& also on various other initiatives taken by govt for farmers' welfare. Agriculture Minister will also be present," the PMO said.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to small and marginal farmers, payable in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each. The fund is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
The programme comes amid protests by various farmer unions against three farm laws recently enacted by the Modi government.
