General Hospital Spoilers: James Patrick Stuart Shares Sad Family News - Father Chad Stuart of 'Chad & Jeremy' Dead

General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some sad family news to pass on about a popular GH star. James Patrick Stuart, who portrays Valentin Cassadine on the ABC soap, recently shared on social media that his father Chad Stuart has passed away at the age of 79.

James shared the news with his followers on Twitter by posting a photo of his father along with the following caption: “Higgledy piggledy hi-de-ho…Miss you, kiss you daddy-o…Wish you’d stuck around a bit…But you were sick and had to split…Just know that I could not be sad…When I’m this grateful you were my dad. Love you, Chad Stuart.”

James’ followers have been steadily replying with their messages of comfort and condolences. As one fan replied: “Sending condolences to you and your family. May your dad Rest In Peace!” Someone else commented: “Hoping your memories of love will be a comfort to you.”

And another person wrote: “I am incredibly sorry and heartbroken for your loss. As someone who lost their dad this year too, I feel your pain and send you my deepest condolences.”

James also posted a nice picture of his father on his Instagram feed, as well, and plenty of fans wrote in with their condolences there as well. In case you didn’t know, James’ father Chad was a popular musician and one-half of the musical group “Chad & Jeremy” that was popular in the 1960s.

The duo, which also included Jeremy Clyde, was well-known for songs such as “A Summer Song” and “Yesterday’s Gone.”

According to Best Classic Bands, Chad Stuart was born David Stuart Chadwick on December 10, 1941. In Windermere, Westmorland, England, and he met his bandmate-to-be Jeremy Clyde while they were attending London’s Central School of Speech and Drama.

Chad and Jeremy started signing together as a duo in 1962, and they had their first hit in the UK, which was “Yesterday’s Gone.”

From there, the duo went on to perform on a variety of American TV shows, including American Bandstand, The Patty Duke Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Batman. The due broke up in 1968, but they did enjoy several reunions at later dates, most recently in 2010 with an album called Fifty Years On.

Chad Stuart’s death was announced on Chad & Jeremy’s Facebook page. The announcement said that Chad had developed pneumonia that was non-COVID related after he was admitted to the hospital due to a fall.

“We ask for love, celebration but also space while the family adjusts to life without this incredible force…The world has lost a legend today, but his voice will continue to touch out lives through his music,” the announcement stated.
