MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A student nutrition group at Milwaukee Area Technical College is working to prevent food insecurity in the area.
Volunteers hosted a Hunter Task Force Mobile Market on the technical college's campus Thursday, Dec. 17.
The market handed out nutritious food to students.
Organizers say the event is to help students with food insecurity by promoting a healthy lifestyle and teaching nutrition education.
"Nutrition sessions -- so we explain for students how to prepare food, where to buy food, what kind is better for everyone," said Anna Kryukovskaya with MATC's student nutrition program.
The mobile market was made possible with a grant funded by the American Cancer Society.
