Alexander Wang is expanding his New York real estate portfolio, and—surprise, surprise—the fashion designer best known for his streamlined, modern styles is now the proud owner of a sleek home in Westchester County. Wang purchased the pavilion-style midcentury-modern house on a five-acre property for $1.85 million, Variety reports, well over its asking price ($1.75 million).
The 2,692-square-foot main house is separated into three wings, each with a bedroom and bathroom, and each lined with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lush backyard and teardrop-shaped pool. There is also a guesthouse over the garage.
According to a 2013 WowHaus report, the home was designed in 1960 by two unnamed Bauhaus-trained architects. The ultramodern property, which also features a Japanese garden flanking the entryway, has reportedly required only minimal updates in the 60 years since its construction.

Wang’s new home will likely offer the award-winning designer a comparatively idyllic break from his main residence in the heart of Manhattan. His chic, art-filled West Chelsea apartment overlooks the Hudson River and was a design collaboration between Wang and his longtime friend, interior designer Ryan Korban. That abode, Wang told AD in 2017, marked a shift in his personal decor philosophy: “It was time for a grown-up apartment that had a view, separate rooms, and a little outdoor space—something more cozy and intimate,” he said, noting that Korban even convinced him to branch out beyond his original plan to outfit the home in only “50 shades of black.”
