Play as a Wheelchair-Bound Mannequin in Upcoming VR Horror Title ‘A Wake Inn’

For those looking for some surreal VR horror, Polish developers VR Bros have quite the premise with their upcoming title, A Wake Inn. And yes, the wordplay is intentional. So, what is the premise, you ask? You assume the role of a wheelchair-bound mannequin that’s trapped in an art deco hotel filled with an army of living dolls.

In all seriousness, given that video games have had players assume countless identities since their very inception, being an abandoned mannequin that needs to find out who they are, why they ended up in the hotel, and just who the mysterious voice is that’s guiding them along their journey is par for the course.

If that wasn’t enough, players in A Wake Inn will have a unique method of transport. In order to move, players will have to sit in a chair (this is VR, after all), and using their controllers, move their arms as if they were pushing the wheels of the wheelchair. The players can move forward, backwards, and turn using this motion system.

A Wake Inn features puzzles and escape room-style gameplay elements, as well as giving the player a choice to engage in combat or use stealth instead. In all, VR Bros estimates that the game takes 5-6 hours to complete.

You can wishlist the game on Steam right now, which will support Valve Index, HTC Vive, Cosmos, Oculus Rift, and Windows MR. Expect A Wake Inn in Q1 2021.
