Speakers revealed for 12th annual LATIF and FDs’ Summit
Sir Bob Kerslake, former head of the UK’s home civil service, is among the key speakers headlining this year’s Room151 FDs’ Summit.
The Summit takes place alongside Room151’s Local Authority Treasurers Investment Forum (LATIF) with both events taking place online on January 20, 21, and 22.
LATIF will explore topics such as Room151’s annual investment survey, the UK economic outlook, money market funds, debt strategies and alternative investment solutions.
The FDs’ Summit will look at the impact of Covid-19 on councils, devolution and reorganisation, commercialisation, placeshaping and future funding solutions.
Expert speakers from the local authority coalface will include Carol Culley, deputy chief executive of Manchester City Council; Joanna Killian, chief executive of Surrey County Council; Martin Reeves, chief executive of Coventry City Council; and Sanjiv Kohli, deputy chief executive of Newark and Sherwood District Council.
Among the other guests are Tony Travers of the London School of Economics, one of the country’s most sought after experts on local government, and Polly Mackenzie, chief executive at Demos and a frequent television pundit on politics and government. They will be joined by Andrew Carter, chief executive at Centre for Cities.
High-profile local government figures taking part include Sir Merrick Cockell, chair of the UK Municipal Bonds Agency and a former chair of the Local Government Association and Jackie Sadek, chief operating officer at UK Regeneration.
