LulzBot expands desktop 3D printer line

The TAZ Pro S is the latest addition to the LulzBot line of industrial desktop 3D printers. The machine is designed to print large, functional prototypes, manufacturing aids, and print-on-demand parts.

The extruder head lays down 1.75-mm-wide filament—everything from TPU and nylon to PLA, ABS, and rigid carbon-filled, high-strength materials. Dual nickel-coated, hardened-steel drive gears ensure uninterrupted material flow, reports the North Dakota manufacturer. The work space measures 280 by 280 by 285 mm and has a heated build plate.

The machine has a 5-in., full-color touch screen and, according to the company, runs quietly thanks to its Trinamic TMC2130 stepper drivers. The TAZ features automated x-y-z offset calibration, nozzle wiping, and self-leveling capabilities.
