Cheetor, Deep Cover, and the Allicon are included in the listings, so Wave 3 may be a mix of Siege, Earthrise, and Kingdom molds like how Wave 2 is a mix of Siege and Earthrise molds.o.supreme wrote:So if there is a 3rd wave, no doubt it will be Earthrise based. Absolutely not.

He was speculating about what the packaging gimmick might be for Netflix wave 3 since we seem to have completed Teletraan-1 with this assortment, not what the actual figures are going to be.
To which I saw..... maybe more of the alternate future cards from the rest of Kingdom. It's an interesting question.
Also, did Siege have a packaging gimmick that I'm forgetting about or did that start with ER?

Siege had hidden codes on the boxed figures (Deluxe and up) and some exclusives, revealed by blacklight (like everyone has one! ). Those codes could be entered on the Hasbro Siege site for hidden stuff. Think Cyber Key codes from Cybertron.

He's just saying that knowing part of the wave 3 lineup there's no reason to think it'll be based on a specific animated series like Earthrise just like wave 2 isn't and therefore the backdrop could just as easily be something from Kingdom or even Siege.
As for what wave 3 will come with, I'm sure they'll just keep doing backdrops, there's no shortage of places to choose from be it Megatron's throne room (probably has an official name I can't think of), inside the Axalon, or just Cybertron or jungle scapes.

Decided to do a quick run to one of the Fargo, ND Walmarts over lunch, and the reports were correct. I found a Netflix Bumblebee, and they had quite a lot of the deluxes from this wave (some were piled up on the high shelf). There were also a couple wave 2 Earthrise deluxes on the shelves as well.

Same here, I plan on checking this weekend. Some stores like to wait until Black Friday to put stuff on shelves to make things more impressive. Right now I've got one store with nothing on the NetFlix pegs and shelf and another with just one each of Hotlink, Megatron and Sideswipe so the space is there, just need the stock.

It was a little of BOTH actually. I know the Netflix waves are nto tied to a particular toy line BUT they appear to be tied to a specific animated series. Wave 1&2 had the B&W Siege image, and all characters appeared in the Siege portion of the animated series (Except for Nemesis...which I guess could be a spoiler for the next series). It would not be out of the realm of logic though to think that wave 3 will include a B&W version of the ER packaging to go with characters that will all appear in the ER portion of the animation. Not saying it's a 100% certainty, but it is a possibility.
And yes I'd like to know about any included backdrop gimmicks, but I guess it's too early to say.

Because they redecoed them a bazillion times, either keeping the yellow with a different pattern in a different color, or switching the black and yellow! Not to mention they both have toys in all the major size classes (equal to Optimus Prime)
Fortunately, G1 Bumblebee has stayed small by virtue of how the Generations-style lines are treated: Deluxe is the largest he's gotten

It's less likely to just be thrown away & end up as landfill, so Hasbro get the double bonus of claiming that they're reducing waste while at the same time incentivizing customers to buy even the most crap-tastic of figures (that might otherwise become shelf-warmers) in order to complete a continuous image.
Aside from having to buy those crap-tacious potential shelf-warmer figures you don't like in order to complete a background (which, obviously, sucks), I hope the idea continues in future lines.
Besides, I'm sure even single panels from just one package could make for some good photo backdrops, if angled correctly...?

o.supreme wrote:Im not actually collecting them, I'm just curious about the idea. Besides, like the Map pieces in Earthrise I'm sure some will sell their Teletran-1 pieces seperately online so you don't necessarily need to purchase the toys you don't want. I'm hoping when ER is over to sell the map pieces I do have to make up for a little money spent on the toys.
Good idea! I actually like retaining some of the nicer box designs, I dunno - call it a quirk? If they're really nice, use them as backdrops or as inspiration for details & settings for my displays. Sometimes I just like to look at the variation/progression of designs over the years.
A patchwork map might be a unique background material, something reminiscent of that holographic space map/cartography room that was in the War for Cybertron game (or possible Fall of Cybertron - my memory's fuzzy).
Since I've been limiting my collecting to just MP's (due to space), I see a lot less of the much nicer modern boxes (like for Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom Deluxe, Leader, etc.), so someone selling a few empties, even flattened, with the nice designs on them would be a nice option to have.

Thanks again to our very own Jtprime17 we can share for you new Walmart listings for upcoming Netflix War For Cybertron Voyager Class toys.
This time we have 2 new listings with brand new EAN codes. We still have no images or product description of these upcoming new figures.
TRA GEN WFC N Battlefield Voyager Optimus Primal
EAN: 5010993829040
TRA GEN WFC N Battlefield Voyager Seeker
EAN: 5010993829033
These items could be Netflix War For Cybertron Wave 3 Voyager class. If so, Optimus Primal may be a redeco of his Kingdom figure. The Voyager Seeker remains a mystery, so your guess is as good as ours. Click on the discussion link below and share your expectations on the 2005 Board!
I think someone just posted in the Kingdom thread about waiting for a Netflix Primal. Well, here's some potential confirmation.

And my money is tight already... I may have to pick either Hotlink as a buddy for Red Wing, or Megatron for Pinpointer to Crosshairs, and an accurate Lionizer.

Awesome, thanks! The main Walmart I go to is down to just a couple of Hotlinks, a Megatron, and a Decepticon Mirage. Hopefully, they will stock up!

Trademark situations can change at the drop of a hat. And listings aren't a good indicator of what the final name might end up as.

Lots of names have been lost and regained over the years. If it were a tone issue, then the child-aimed Cyberverse line wouldn't have used "Skullcruncher" for its Ultra class figure.King Kuuga wrote:Interesting to see that the characters renamed for Titans Return now have their original names back.
