In this video, I install an automatic reverser on the mainline of my N-scale model railroad. I explain why the configuration of my track plan requires me to install an auto reverser on a particular segment of mainline.
You often hear about using auto reversers in reversing loops, in wyes, and at turntables. But there doesn’t seem to be single word about using them on the mainline anywhere on the Internet. Even the instructions that come with AR’s say nothing about using them to reverse the polarity on mainlines.
In the video, I first install a Digitrax AR-1 but am not totally satisfied with it. So I replace it with an NCE AR-10, which I am very happy with. The AR-10 does what I need it to do, and it does it perfectly.
