California snowplow driver uncovers bodies of two homicide victims

A California snowplow driver uncovered the bodies of two murder victims while clearing a remote stretch in the Sierra Nevada early Monday, authorities said.

The bodies of a man and a woman were found just before dawn on the shoulder of US 395 outside the small community of Bridgeport, the Mono County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Investigators determined the pair were homicide victims, the release said.

Their identities have not yet been released, but authorities said they were not local.

“The crime appears to be specific and targeted, and there is no threat to the community of Bridgeport,” a police statement read.

It’s unclear how long the bodies were on the side of the road before being found.
