A man remained hospitalized and in critical condition Tuesday as a result of a shooting in the parking lot of a Des Moines McDonald's restaurant, police said.

Police were called around 9 p.m. Monday by a man who said he was shot in the parking lot of McDonald's in the 3000 block of Southeast 14th Street. Evidence indicated the shooting was not random and the public is not in danger, Des Moines police spokesperson Sgt. Paul Parizek said Tuesday.

The victim, whose name was not released by police, was uncooperative and nobody had been arrested as of Tuesday morning, Parizek said.
