turning toward tokyo to establish its first international flagship store, new york-based streetwear brand KITH continues its long-time collaboration with multidisciplinary studio snarkitecture. since expanding its manhattan location in 2014, KITH founder ronnie fieg has trusted his interiors with the playful design studio, founded in part by daniel arsham. fresh, monochromatic, and textural, the atmosphere is curated with a palette of marble, stainless steel, and glass — highlighting the product in vibrant moments of color. the monumental entrance of the japan location is defined by a sculpted array of white, cast NIKE air force 1’s covering the vaulted ceiling.

KITH and snarkitecture continue the fresh aesthetic of its US locations with the first international flagship store in tokyo. the two-story building carries footwear and apparel for men, women and kids, and houses an outpost of KITH treats — the brand’s signature cereal and ice cream cafe. in the footwear section, shoes are displayed on stainless steel shelving, surrounding a circular glass unit featuring the personal archive of footwear designed by KITH founder ronnie fieg.

our tokyo flagship is the manifestation of our evolution over the past decade,’ ronnie fieg comments on the KITH tokyo flagship store, designed in collaboration with snarkitecture. ‘it’s a canvas to tell the story of what kith does. how stores are built in tokyo — the attention to detail, what that looks like and feels like — is different from anywhere else in the world. so we worked closely with snarkitecture to take the core elements of our store experience and mold them for tokyo. we took our DNA and built on it to offer a completely new feeling for our tokyo customers.’
