Two of Arizona's storied high school football programs meet Friday night on national television as
Hamilton (Chandler) travels to
Saguaro (Scottsdale). The showdown between unbeatens will be broadcast by ESPN2 at 6 p.m. MST.
Hamilton and Saguaro have combined to win an incredible 18 state championships in the 2000s. The programs met in last year's Open Division semifinals with the former winning 20-16.
Host Saguaro (2-0) is coming off a 70-14 win last week over Maricopa. Under head coach Jason Mohns, the Sabercats have won at least 10 games every season since 2014. The school has 12 state titles on its resume – all since 1995.
Hamilton (2-0) has dominated its first two opponents, outscoring Centennial (Peoria) and Perry (Gilbert) by a combined score of 106-22. The Huskies have claimed seven Grand Canyon State crowns since 2003.
