96 cases is KK's record daily Covid-19 rise
Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu saw a record 96-case Covid-19 daily increase Thursday while Penampang and Putatan have reached the red zone category of the disease, data from Sabah health authorities showed.

The capital district’s active case tally rose to 318 while Penampang’s rose to 50 and Putatan 45, both surpassing the red zone’s threshold of 40 active cases.

However, Penampang and Putatan are still coded yellow in the above infographic from the Sabah Health Director’s Facebook page probably because the two districts have been grouped together with Kota Kinabalu (a red zone) as the City Centre Zone during the current management of the pandemic.

Tuaran and Papar, most recently declared as red zones, again saw double-digit increases with 35 and 19 cases respectively.

Semporna and Tawau, also red zones, were back to recording double-digit daily cases with 17 and 25 respectively, while Sandakan, which had been seeing double-digit rises, kept the trend with its 35 cases on Thursday.

Two other red zones, Lahad Datu and Kunak, registered only five and nine more cases respectively.

Yellow zones that had more cases Thursday were Kota Belud (4), Kinabatangan (2), Tambunan (3), Sipitang (1) and Beaufort (1).

Meanwhile, Tenom became a yellow zone when the south-western district registered three cases yesterday, while Nabawan and Tongod remained as Sabah's only green zones.

A district is a green zone if it has no active Covid-19 cases, a yellow zone if it has 1 to 39 cases and a red zone if 40 or more cases.
