Culver City Relaxing Parking Rules Due To Pandemic
CULVER CITY, CA — Culver City locals can breathe easier over street parking coming up. City officials Monday announced an extension of relaxed parking enforcement, which was put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, through Nov. 14.
Through that date, the city will not enforce:
street sweeping restrictions in residential areas
parking restrictions around closed schools
ticketing and towing for abandoned vehicles and oversize vehicle overnight parking fines.
Culver City officials are also extending the city's freeze on parking fine increases for 60 days after the initial citation and the grace period for people dropping off and picking up groceries and goods.
But the city will still enforce:
residential permit parking
parking violations of peak-hour restrictions
parking violations in colored curb zones
parking meter violations
The city may extend its relaxed parking enforcement past Nov. 14 as warranted by public health orders. Officials will discuss a further extension at the Nov. 9 City Council meeting.
