Northbrook Police Find Male Suspect Alleged to Have Implied a Gun Threat, Actually Possessed a Gun at Auto Dealership

Northbrook police responded about 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2020 to a report of an implied threat with a gun at Steve Foley Cadillac, 100 Skokie Boulevard in Northbrook.

Ovidiu G. Astalis, 35, of the block of 8100 W Courte Drive, Niles, is accused of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct (two counts), and was arrested at 5:10 p.m. October 5, 2020 at the auto dealership, Steve Foley Cadillac, 100 Skokie Boulevard.

According to the complainant, Astalis was upset because his vehicle had been repossessed. The suspect implied that he had a gun, and threatened to use the gun at the dealership. Northbrook Police made contact with Ovidiu Astalis and recovered a handgun. Ovidiu Astalis posted $1,500 bond, and was assigned a court date of November 13, 2020 at Cook County Circuit Court in Skokie.
