Police arrested three men after chasing a Porsche through Hyde Park Thursday afternoon (CBS Chicago).

Bloomingdale police responded about 11:58 AM Thursday October 8, 2020 to an armed robbery at the T-Mobile store, 170 East Lake Street Bloomingdale, IL. Police received a report that four male/black offenders armed with handguns robbed the T-Mobile. A source reported the T-Mobile was located at 150 East Lake Street, but the location was not confirmed by police, and there are two additional T-Mobile locations in Bloomingdale.

One offender was reported to be armed with a rifle or a shotgun and a handgun.

The offenders fled in a red Porsche SUV, and eventually it was believed that there were only three offenders.

The suspects were followed by Illinois State Police on I-290, but were not pursued by Bloomingdale police officers or Illinois State Police troopers.

The suspects exited eastbound I-290 onto Racine and then headed eastbound on Taylor, southbound Halsted and then eastbound on Roosevelt.

The offenders were traveling as fast as 80 MPH on surface streets at this point.

The offenders got back on the Dan Ryan Expressway and soon went back to surface streets, and also entered I-55 for a short time reaching a speed of about 105 MPH on a surface street before entering I-55.

The offenders soon exited I-55 and got back on surface streets and headed toward Lake Shore Drive, and then headed south on Lake Shore Drive and exited Hyde Park Boulevard. The offenders then crashed the red Porsche on Blackstone between 55th Street and 56th Street. The red Porsche had dealer plates.

The first offender was in custody in the block of 5500 South Dorchester Avenue, which is just just west of Blackstone Avenue.

Two offenders were in custody and one or two offenders were believed to be at large at about 11:45 a.m. There was some confusion whether there were a total of three or four offenders. There was concern that the one at large may have had a shotgun with him.

The third suspect was apprehended and a total of three suspects were arrested. Details were a little sketchy, and Illinois State Police and Chicago Police referred questions to Bloomingdale Police Department. The initial number of suspects was not confirmed. The driver of the Porsche did make a few stops on surface streets, which could have given opportunity for an offender to bail out of the Porsche long before the crash near 55th Street and Blackstone.

The distance from west suburban Bloomingdale in DuPage County to the crash scene in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago is about 34 miles.

A robbery and police chase Thursday morning that started in Bloomingdale ended with a crash in Hyde Park (WGN News).
