'Kanmadam' actress Sarada Nair passes away

Malayalam actress Sarada Nair, who is best known for playing the Bhanu's grandma in 'Kanmadam' passed away today at her residence in Thathamangalam, Palakkad. She was 92.
She was reportedly under treatment for age-related ailments. She is a member of the Peroor Moopil Madam family and she was the wife of the late Padmanabhan Nair.
Meanwhile, Sarada has acted in a bunch of movies of which the most popular is the 1998 release ‘Kanmadam’.
She played the grandmother of the protagonist Bhanu (Manju Warrier) in the movie. Sarada Nair had great onscreen chemistry with Manju Warrier in the movie. One of her notable scenes in the movie is her conversation with Mohanlal’s character. ‘Kanmadam’ was written and directed by AK Lohithadas.
Sarada Nair has also acted in ‘Pattabhishekam’. She played the role of a grandmother in the movie, which had actors Jayaram and Mohini in the lead roles. Released in 1999, ‘Pattabhishekam’ is directed by Anil Babu.
Actor Mohanlal has expressed grief over the passing of his co-star Sarada Nair. “Tribute to Sharda Amma (sic)," Mohanlal wrote on his social media handle.
