Steve Weiss, a well-known pastry chef who lives in Ashburn, will be competing on the new season of Food Network’s “Halloween Wars” series, which debuts tonight (Sunday) at 9 p.m.
Weiss is an associate dean of culinary arts at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He’s also a veteran reality TV show competitor, having appeared on various shows for 20 years now. Some of his past competitions include “King of Cones,” “Pastry Daredevils” and “The $50,000 Pastry Challenge.”
On the new season of “Halloween Wars,” Weiss teams up with pumpkin carver Daniel Miller and cake designer Hemu Basu. Their team is called the Mummies Rejects. Over the coming weeks, six teams will compete in a variety of baking and design challenges until the ultimate winner of the “war” is decided.
