No More Indecent Exposure Incidents, According to Arlington Heights Police; But Additional Specific Details Found on Social Media

Regarding reports of incidents of indecent exposure that occurred between Thursday, August 20, 2020 and Sunday, August 23, 2020 in mid-afternoon; the Arlington Heights Police Department reported on Thursday, August 27, 2020 that many tips from the community were received. Police said viable leads exist and that they are continuing to investigate the case. The Arlington Heights Police Department also reported that no additional occurrences have been reported since the initial three incidents were reported.

Additional details were also shared by a reliable source on social media post, that included a captured security camera image and a message that claimed the image was the indecent exposure suspect’s vehicle. The security image showed a red sedan. The social media post stated the suspect was wearing a blue disposable mask while watching a young girl and her two friends walking in the neighborhood on Friday August 21, 2020 near the block of 1400 East Oakton Street. According to the social media post, the male offender in the vehicle had no pants on and was exposing himself and masturbating.

Police had publicly announced the indecent exposure incidents to the public on Monday, August 24, 2020 without the image of the red car and without some specific details.




Police from Arlington Heights said they responded to reports of indecent exposure by a male adult to juveniles in two locations in Arlington Heights — the block of 1400 East Oakton Street and the block of 200 South Ridge Avenue.

In response to inquiries received at the Arlington Heights Police Department, the police department said Monday August 24, 2020 that they were investigating three reports of a male adult exposing himself to juveniles. Preliminary investigation revealed the male was described as white or tan, in his 30s, with brown hair, wearing a face mask and driving a red car. The incidents of exposure occurred between August 20, 2020 and August 23, 2020 in mid-afternoon. The second incident was not specified as occurring on Friday, but did fall within the date range of August 20-23, 2020, as mentioned by police.

Police said two of the incidents occurred in the area of the block of 1400 East Oakton Street, and one of the incidents occurred in the area of the block of 200 South Ridge Avenue.
