If one thing is for sure, Marcus Smart is always honest.
Following the Celtics' 119-112 loss to the Bucks Friday night, Smart said exactly how he felt about a call against him with roughly 1:30 to play in the game with the score knotted at 107.
Smart appeared to draw a charge on Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, which would have fouled him out of the game, but the play was overturned on a review and it turned into a blocking foul on Smart and thus a three-point play for Antetokounmpo.
The Celtics guard believes Antetokounmpo got some superstar treatment.
“The excuse was I was late on the charge," Smart said to reporters. "They said the replay said I was late and it was a block, but quite frankly I think we all know what that was about: Giannis with six fouls, they didn’t want to get him out. We’ll just call that spade a spade, that’s just what it is."
Below is the play, you be the judge.
