Parking lots at Jersey City public schools will no longer be open to the public starting Friday evening, Board of Education officials announced.
As the district continues to prepare for its September reopening, school parking lots will be closed and locked at 6 p.m. Friday, Arthur Youmans, the district’s director of security, wrote in a letter to Jersey City residents.
The lots have been open and available to Jersey City residents since the early days of the COVID-19 shutdown.
“As the city and state begin to return to normal, and as the school district prepares for fall opening, we can no longer provide parking to our neighbors,” Youmans wrote.
Anyone whose vehicle remains in the school parking lots after 6 p.m. should call 201-915-6320 or 201-915-6330.
