Coming Soon, the New York City–based furniture design and gift shop, is one of those places that provides an endless amount of inspiration and obsession. The curation of objects and the super-punchy images always have our attention. So we were thrilled to learn about its latest project: a limited-edition collaboration palette of three playful, bright paint colors and custom T-shirts to match with paint brand Backdrop.

Meet BLUE IS THE COOLEST COLOR: A saturated blue that draws from classic Italian design.

We love this vintage accordion-style brass étagère with painted blue shelves.

Each color comes in a custom cobranded paint can that features the bichon frise Cosi, who is not only the Coming Soon mascot, but also reminds us to wear a mask on Backdrop’s signature stainless-steel, rectangular paint can. The paints are low-VOC and Greenwise-certified, and a portion of each sale contributes to the International Rescue Committee to help displaced families in some of the most challenging places in the world—a cause Backdrop has been committed to since its fall 2018 launch.

Here is PRETTY UGLY: a vibrant, bold olive green that the group has been individually drawn to across design, from upholstery to clothing and accessories.

A good accent door is always a fun move.

With the shared viewpoint that paint is a central element of design that can serve as equal parts artistic expression and function, the palette is Coming Soon’s first paint partnership to date. You can shop the colors on Backdrop and Coming Soon’s online shops and at Coming Soon’s retail location in the Lower East Side, which is open by appointment or for pickup. In a true collab between Backdrop’s husband-and-wife cofounders Natalie and Caleb Ebel and Coming Soon wife-and-wife cofounders Helena Barquet and Fabiana Faria, each color was created to stand alone or be used for accent walls, shapes, and framing.

This is BARRAGÁN-CITO: An electric, bright pink inspired by Mexican architect Luis Barragán’s work.

Cosi looks so good on this chrome Milo Baughman love seat.

Oh yeah, there's even a Spotify playlist.
