To Mask or Not to Mask?

To date there is no scientific proof that a mask will truly provide sufficient protection. Given the mixed signals provided by the CDC and the W. H. O., there may be some doubt that those two organizations know what they are talking about. In January, Dr Fauci stated that masks were of little benefit, CNN stated that “You don’t need them, physicians say.” (1-28-20). By 3-31-2020, CNN reported “What the WHO and CDC have reaffirmed is that they do not recommend the general public wear masks.” Meanwhile, on April 6, the WHO advised “there is little evidence that masks are beneficial”.

P J Media (5-31-20) published “Conflicting WHO, CDC Masks Guidance Creates Confusion and Havoc”, by Megan Fox. Concluding “There are no studies that show the effectiveness of non-medical masks”.

The American Thinker (6-29-20) published “COVID-19 Protective Advice from a Doctor, albeit a Dentist”, by Pete McArdle. How many times per day do you change to a new mask? This is good.

In The Federalist (7-9-20), “There’s No Good Reason to Mask Toddlers”, by Georgi Boorman, delves into the science involving the masking of children. While explaining that there is a “near-complete lack of evidence that children spread COVID-19 to vulnerable people…” and that as report-ed on NPR “… there are almost no documented cases of adult-to-child transmission…” and “…almost never to adults…”, including parents and teachers.
